Reporters learned from the National Energy Administration that as of the end of September this year, the cumulative installed capacity of household distributed photovoltaics nationwide had exceeded 100 million kilowatts, reaching 105 million kilowatts, boosting China's total photovoltaic power generation installed capacity to over 500 million kilowatts, reaching 520 million kilowatts. 105 million kilowatts is equivalent to the total installed capacity of more than 4 Three Gorges power stations. According to statistics, the number of rural households with cumulative installed household distributed photovoltaics in China has exceeded 5 million, driving effective investment of more than 500 billion yuan.

Photovoltaic power generation can be divided into centralized photovoltaic power generation and distributed photovoltaic power generation. Distributed photovoltaic power generation usually includes household photovoltaics and industrial and commercial distributed photovoltaics. In recent years, China's household distributed photovoltaics have developed rapidly, with increasing economy, continuous innovation in business models, and repeated new highs in development scale, achieving large-scale leaping development. They have played an important role in ensuring safe and reliable power supply, promoting green energy transformation, and driving farmers' income and employment.

From January to September this year, the newly added installed capacity of household distributed photovoltaics nationwide was 32.977 million kilowatts, accounting for about half of the newly added installed capacity of distributed photovoltaics, exceeding a quarter of the country's total newly added photovoltaic installed capacity, and 1.3 times the scale of newly added household photovoltaic installed capacity for the whole of last year. In terms of regional distribution, as of the end of September this year, Shandong, Henan, and Hebei ranked the top three in the country in terms of cumulative installed capacity of household distributed photovoltaics, with installed capacities of 24.48 million kilowatts, 20.84 million kilowatts, and 16.66 million kilowatts respectively, totaling 61.98 million kilowatts, accounting for about 60% of the national total.

According to relevant institutions' forecasts, the available roof area for installing photovoltaics in rural areas of China is about 27.3 billion square meters, covering more than 80 million households, with huge development potential. A relevant person in charge of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration stated that next, efforts will be made to implement the "Thousands of Towns and Villages Wind Control Action" and the "Thousands of Households Solar Lighting Action", steadily advance the pilot work of distributed photovoltaic development on rooftops in whole counties, and continue to promote the development of distributed new energy.
