On May 19, the Conference on Releasing Typical Cases of Green and Low-Carbon Energy Transition and Technical Exchange, hosted by the National Energy Administration and undertaken by China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, was held in Beijing. Wan Jinsong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the National Energy Administration, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Xiang Haiping, Chief Engineer of the National Energy Administration, released the typical cases and the Compilation of Typical Cases of Green and Low-Carbon Energy Transition.

To fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, further advance the energy revolution, accelerate the planning and construction of a new energy system, and explore, summarize, exchange and promote successful experiences and useful practices from various regions, the National Energy Administration organized the collection of typical cases of green and low-carbon energy transition. It selected 23 typical cases and compiled them into the Compilation of Typical Cases of Green and Low-Carbon Energy Transition.

Wan Jinsong stated that accelerating the green and low-carbon transition of energy is crucial for implementing the major decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee, achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, and is also an important measure for building a new energy system. In recent years, China's clean energy has developed rapidly, the energy structure has been continuously optimized, and new technologies, models, and industries have flourished. A number of excellent cases of green and low-carbon transition have emerged, making useful explorations for the construction of a new energy system. In the new era and new journey, the task of energy transition and transformation is arduous and long-term. All sectors of society should work together, strengthen planning guidance, enhance policy and mechanism guarantees, give play to the exemplary and leading role, and jointly promote the high-quality development of China's energy sector.

Xiang Haiping introduced that more than 150 cases were submitted for the collection of typical cases. The National Energy Administration set up an expert group and entrusted China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute as a third-party institution to organize defense and selection, and carried out case verification and public notice. The 23 typical cases cover links such as energy production and supply, processing and conversion, and end-use consumption, with strong innovation and demonstration significance. This case release and technical exchange activity aims to build a platform for exchange and learning, better play the exemplary and leading role, and promote the green and low-carbon transition of China's energy sector through point-to-area driving.

The Compilation of Typical Cases of Green and Low-Carbon Energy Transition systematically presents the basic information, practices, technical characteristics, and actual effects of 23 typical cases in 4 categories, including new models of green energy supply, energy greening and carbon reduction in cities (towns), carbon emission reduction in energy industry chains, and low-carbon transition of energy-consuming enterprises (parks). It aims to provide useful experience and practical references for green and low-carbon energy transition in different fields.

China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute gave an interpretation of the typical cases at the release conference. In the technical exchange session, 8 selected typical cases shared their practical experience in green and low-carbon transition.
