Zhongji, Twenty Years

Time
She slips away in quiet flight—
I reach my hands to hold her stream,
But grasp no tide of passing light.
Time
She sways in slow, relentless flight—
I spread my arms to block her way,
Yet waves still surge beyond my might.
Twenty years—
Across Hunan’s land, your epic takes its frame:
Steadfast. Renewed. Focused.
Through growth’s sharp sting and change’s ache,
Towering stacks of bids became
Stones where our industry now stands;
Mountains of scrap turned to light
To pave the road with guiding flame.
Twenty years—
Staff cherished. Society served. Earth shielded.
Fairness. Shared good. Others first.
Passion and toil, day by day,
Lived through "Five Speeches, Four Each"—
Melted into our mission’s aim:
"To make life brighter."
Twenty years—
Guided by the Party’s steadfast hand,
Never forget why we began.
Twenty years—
Bearing society’s weight as planned:
Books for young minds. Relief when disaster struck.
Twenty years—
A melody of seasons flows—
Where your sweat etched each note’s claim.
Twenty years—
A landscape only vision knows—
Where your hands drew dreams that came.
O Time—
Two decades now unfold:
Look back—rich years—glory told.
O Time—
Two decades blaze anew:
Set sail—fresh heights—golden view.
